Newbery Medal Winners
The Newbery Medal, awarded annually since 1922 by the American Library Association, is the most prestigious prize in American children's literature. Its winners — from A Wrinkle in Time to Bridge to Terabithia to The Crossover — represent the best of middle-grade fiction: books written for readers aged eight to twelve that take their audience's intelligence and emotional range seriously. The Newbery is the standard against which all American children's book awards are measured.
