Edgar Award Winners

The Edgar Award, presented annually by the Mystery Writers of America since 1954 and named after Edgar Allan Poe, is the most prestigious prize in mystery and crime fiction. It recognises the best novels, short stories, screenplays, and critical works in the genre, and its winners — including Patricia Highsmith, Tony Hillerman, and Sue Grafton — have consistently shaped the development of crime fiction. The Edgar is a reliable guide to the genre's best work across its many subgenres.
